Military World Games Soccer Training Camp

Seven-thirty in the morning on a quiet, muddy field in Marysville, Washington, they are at work. No mugging for the camera or posing for selfies. No team portraits or player profile pics. These are the faces of an exhausted, frustrated group of men–coaches and players alike– pushing themselves and each other to the breaking point. The path to the Military World Games isn't glamorous or glorious. They are the best soccer players in the military services, but that accolade has no value here. The training pitch is merciless, but success demands facing it. The classroom is tedious but necessary. This is Team USA. This is how we win.
